“Calling impeachment ‘a cumbersome process that requires the actions of a whole branch of government that has a lot of different people involved’—no duh—Pan asked Sauer if selling pardons or military secrets would prevent a president from criminal prosecution.”

The premise is simple, but the task is not. Every single movie released in the United States during the 1980s, reviewed in chronological order, published month by month.

The Wonderland Murders, which later inspired scenes in Boogie Nights as well as a feature film starring Val Kilmer as John Holmes, took place on the night of July 1st, shocking the city with a crime that involved porn and drugs and guns and money.
Taking the evening off, as I spent the entire day with my family (which was a really nice antidote to the firehose of this week’s events). But there is some personal news to share….
People have noted that I have been posting the letters earlier than usual lately, and have wondered if everything is okay. First of all, thank you for your concern, and second, yes, it is.
When I first started writing these letters in September 2019, they concerned only Trump’s first impeachment.

What started as a slow news week really picked up at the end. On everyone’s mind in the last half day is that massive jury verdict against Rudy Giuliani for nearly $150 million in compensatory and punitive damages. The far-right tried to portray this as some kind of free speech issue. That didn’t go very far.

Back in January, you likely heard a collective shriek ‘round the world when Sarah Jessica Parker and the And Just Like That… team released a photo on Instagram of Carrie Bradshaw walking hand-in-hand with John Corbett’s Aidan Shaw. It was not a happy shriek. And it was not soothed by the photos dribbling out from shooting, including this snap of them kissing, confirming that Aidan’s reappearance is very much NOT a dream sequence, unless the plot for this season is that Carrie fell into an illustrative coma where she imagines her life went an entirely different way.

The kids have spoken. And what they say is this: racist jokes aren’t really a problem, because they’re just jokes.
And also this: Racist jokes are a terrible problem because they impact your mental health and wear you down day after day.

Just Kids is about two struggling artists prelude to fame. A story of two kindred spirit complemented by a force of mutual tenderness, love, and support, it is an intimate look at the lives of Patti Smith's and Robert Mapplethorpe's in the 60s-70s influenced by sex, drugs, rock n roll in New York — they were at first Just Kids. Here are a list of things I loved about this book, starting with: the feeling and setting in time.
Just Say Maybe (to Dexies)

I used approximately 60 micrograms of dexamphetamine, a stimulant commonly prescribed for ADHD, to write this column. I don't have ADHD and I doubt that I would meet criteria for diagnosis. Instead, I take dexamphetamine unprescribed, meaning I am not so much taking dexamphetamine as “dexies”—which is what they morph into when consumed beyond the medical jurisdiction. I get them from a friend who gets them from a guy who buys them from people with a prescription who, for whatever reason, choose not to take their medicine.
